Recover your fake/clone DSTT!

GAWD! WHO CARES IF IT'S FAKE!!! :P

There have been a TREMENDOUS amount of reports that Dealextreme.com is selling fake DStt, as of firmware 1.16, all fake DSTT are killed using the newest firmware! But there is now a way to bring your DSTT back to life! Hurrah! I myself had a fake, and used this, it works PERFECTLY now!
Here are the steps:
Also when you have a clone card you can make it ''genuine'' by flashing it with this tutorial. The fake .bin file in the fake/clone dstt wil be replaced with a genuine .bin file so you can use every firmware even from the REAL DSTT site.

You'll need this: Fake/clone DSTT , Real (Genuine) DSTT or any other Working Flashcard , MicroSD .

1. Download the recovery files here : http://rapidshare.com/files/176149098/DSTTRecovery.exe
2. Open DSTTRecovery.exe .
3. Fill in the path of your MicroSD, e.g. G: of E: , and click ''Install''
4. The files who will be needed to recover your DSTT will be placed on the MicroSD.
5. Put your MicroSD in a REAL (Genuine) DSTT (or any other Working Flashcardlike R4/M3), turn on your NDS and start ''FakeRecovery.nds'' .
6. The Recovery Utility will load things, this can take a while. After it's done loading it will ask you, to put your Fake/Clone DSTT in your NDS.
7. After you put your fake DSTT into your NDS you must press ''A'' , after a few secs it asks you to press ''A'' another time.
8. If the flashing is succeeded you'll see a message on your screen that the recovery was successful

Note : There doesn't have to be a MicroSD in your fake/clone card.

Sunday 14 December 2008

The new EZ5 3 in 1 model dubbed the 3 in 1 plus is to be launched next week. The addition is 512Mbit (64 Megabytes) of NOR space as opposed to 256, the PSRAM is still 128Mbit and the save ram is still the same.

DSi is coming the N.A. in SPRING 2009!

IGN, a popular gamer website (and a credible source of information) has leaked information about the release date of the Nintendo DSi in the US. According to IGN, the Nintendo DSi (Nintendo's new handheld gaming system) is set to be released in the United States of America in March of 2009!

AnyRegion Changer!

AnyRegion Changer is an application which allows you to make non-temporary changes to various region and language settings on your Wii's SYSCONF and setting.txt files. You may call this a "Region Mod," i.e. the settings will persist. It also allows you to install the System Menu of another region if you so desire.

There is a YouTube Video demonstrating this application's basic functionality.

A full description of this utility can be found in the README file.

Important Warning
The latest update to the shop channel BREAKS SHOP COUNTRY REGION CHANGING! Be warned that your Wii may be stuck in a certain region for the shop for the time being.

Features
AnyRegion Changer lets you easily make and save changes to the volatile SYSCONF and setting.txt files.

AnyRegion Changer lets you change the following settings to any of the known values: setting.txt:

AREA setting: Used to determine which region the System Menu should be--normally the cause of full bricks.
GAME setting: Used to determine which region of Discs and channels the System Menu will boot.
VIDEO setting: The Wii's video mode setting. Seems to be used universally.
SYSCONF:

IPL.LANG setting: Used to determine what language to use for various things. Sometimes contingent on AREA setting.
IPL.SADR country setting: Used to determine region information for the Weather/News channels and the Wii Shop channel.
AnyRegion Changer will also install System Menu 3.2 and the appropriate IOS for any of the three main regions.

The system menu installation feature should work universally. That is, regardless of what System Menu you have installed, you should be able to upgrade/downgrade to 3.2 for any region with this feature. This is accomplished via a temporary patched IOS which incorporates bushing's IOSDelete patch and Waninkoko's AddTicket version check patch. This IOS is only installed if necessary, and it is deleted immediately after use.

Precautions
This software comes with NO WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. You may use this software at your own risk. I can take no responsibility for any damage caused by this application.

Please take note of the following:

If setting.txt is corrupted for any reason, it is entirely possible that your Wii will no longer boot.
If you change the GAME ("Game Region") settings, you may no longer be able to boot discs! Make sure you have the Homebrew Channel installed so you can change it back!
Be careful not to change Video mode to a mode unsupported by your display.
If you change your Country code, you will be unable to receive any pending gifts you have in the Wii Shop Channel. (The shop will also warn you of this)
If you set the EULA to Read, you may be accessing Nintendo Network Services illegally. You should only change this setting to "read" if you have actually read and accepted the EULA for the Country code you have set.
Setting the AREA setting ("Console Area Setting") to a different region than your System Menu WILL cause a Semi-Brick! If for some reason your System-Configured flag is unset (via some installation, or a corrupted SYSCONF) your system WILL become FULLY BRICKED. Your system will attempt to do the "First Time" configuration for an incorrect region, and will not be able to find the html content for the interface.
CHANGES MADE TO THE CONSOLE AREA SETTING SHOULD ALWAYS BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SYSTEM MENU CHANGE TO THE SAME REGION!

It may be a good idea to backup your setting.txt with this tool (SD card required). The setting_replace tool will also restore your setting.txt from a backup on your SD card.

Country Codes
A full list of country codes can be found on the Country Codes page

Changelog
1.1b:

No longer cares whether EULA has been set or not
Now downloads the correct IOS35 from nus, a fix for post 10/23/08
1.1:

Minor fix to sysconf lib (Should fix some -24578 errors)
Changed Identification Routines
Added System Menu Region detection
Added intro screen/extra warnings
1.0:

Initial Release

DSi proof flashcard!

Finally, the Acekard team has made an acekard compatible flashcard!!!

New DS: "DSi"

Sorry, this news came a bit late, well we already had a post of this in the forum, but here is a more detailed post :)

Nintendo announced a new version of the Nintendo DS. Called the Nintendo DSi, it lost the GBA slot , which was in my opinion, a bad choice, in favour of a slight downsizing and a range of improvements. The handheld's screens will now be 17% bigger (at 3.25 inches) than those found on the DS Lite. "Audio enhancements" have been made to the handheld. There's also a .3 megapixel (640x480) camera. The DSi also features an SD memory card slot, making it possible to take pictures with the DSi up to 32GB and MORE!. The DSi also features a built-in browser. There is a DSi Shop, from which users can download DSiWare from. Pricing categories for the DSiWare are: Free, 200 points, 500 points and "Premium" or 800 points. Customers will get 1000 free points to spend at the DSi Shop that are good until March 2010.
The DSi will be released in Japan on November 1. It will retail for ¥18,900 (USD$180), and will be available in two colours, white and black. It will be released in other markets sometime "next year".

Sorry, some news though :)

Sorry, DStemp is going through MAJOR adjustments, this is why we haven't updated in a while...We will perhaps even have a new look and editable wiki pages!

We have also added another skin to the database. This one was by request! Enjoy!

PS: The forums will be saved later ;)

LOTS OF UPDATES! And includes homebrew update!

Ok I will just list them...
1.Our news will also be listed in the forums : dstemp.com/forums ,so check that out...
2.The homebrew update!
1. English Patch for POKEMON PLATINUM
Patch updated to V2.5!

Minor tweaks here and there. I can't even remember them all.
I padded he internal files. This allows for a smaller patch file. Also, it should allow for AR codes to work.
The GTS is fixed. Go trade some Pokemon.

Version 2 Updates:
The Pokemon Menu and all of it's contents are now in English. This means natures, attacks, abilities, names, and so forth.
The battle menu is now in English.
Most all of the battle text is in English now. I need to test it more, but it seems good.
You can buy honey now! The text is in japanese though.
Some more of the Pokedex has been modifed.

--------------
Okay, I've been playing with this during my free time the past couple of days.
First, this is a very rough patch. I don't know how to decrypt/decompress the text, so I can't modify the text directly. I simply attempted to copy and paste text bits from English DP directly into the Japanese PL game.
This means that if the text wasn't in D/P it WON'T show up in this patch. Ever.

New items will not be translated; they will appear blank with their name/description. They are still useable, however.

The goal of this project was to translate the moves, items, and Pokemon names. This has been done. Some menus, and some in-game dialogue has been translated as well, but this was something I just happened to come across. Don't expect me to do much more.

Again, let me say that some of the game dialogue is translated, but only basic things. NONE of the new Platinum exclusive text will be translated.

Expect some glitches.
The biggest glitches you may encounter is seeing nothing where text should be. This is most noticable with the new items. They appear in the item case, but lack a name or a description.
You'll notice the Option screen is only half finished. I just happened to translate that, but I cut some of it was mistakenly cut off. I don't feel the desire to dig through the game to relocate and repair this, so don't expect it to be fixed. I mean, how often do you view the options anyway?

Also, when you save a game you won't see the time/badges/ect. I may try to fix this later, but it's so minor that I'm not going to worry about it right now.

Important Note: In the wifi room, if you view the portion of your Trainer Case that contains a new item (name is blank) this will restart the game.

Download:
Patch v2.5.exe: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7HRISBB8
Use the exe patch file to patch your game. Simply drag an original, unmodified ROM over the .exe and it will create a patched file for you.

Alternatively, you can use the xdelta file below.

Pokemon Platinum English Patch v2.5! (xdelta) <- This contains a few updates here and there, but most importantly it should enenable AR codes, and the GTS works!
xdelta patching program: http://code.google.com/p/xdelta/downloa ... .exe&can=2
Copy the patch, xdelta and your ROM to c:\
For windows users, goto Start and Click Run.
1 Type: CMD
2 Hit enter.
3 Type: cd ..
4 Press Enter
(Repeat 3 and 4 until you're at c:\)
Type: xdelta -d -s yourROMname.nds patchv2.5.pat patchedROMname.nds

Note. Use an untrimmed ROM. V2.5 Does not patch the game for you. This makes the patch file MUCH smaller.

FULL CREDIT TO RYKIN OF GBATEMP

I will soon upload a video of this on youtube, as soon as I find a program that can split videos well since my vid is too long for youtube (has to be less than 10minutes or something...)

2.WII BACKUP LOADER (NO MODCHIP NEEDED ANYMORE!)
Wii Backup Loader by Waninkoko has been leaked. With this new piece of hacking homebrew and Windows software, you're able to play backup copies of Wii ISO's without having to install a modchip in your Wii.

You will however, need to install the Homebrew Channel in order to do use this (which requires a legit copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess). You can see a quick and simple list of instructions below on how to use the Wii Backup Loader

Be aware that as this homebrew is currently in beta stage, and has been leaked - not released; there are obvious risks involved with using it, and there are already known compatibility issues with games and even specific pieces of hardware. So it's more of a taste of what's to come.

Needs:
CIOS Rev 5 (beta?)
DVDX ("for now")
Windows Executable Patcher, may work on Linux with Wine, or on Mac OS X with virtualization/bootcamp
Patched ISO
The Loader
Wii
WAD Manager
SD Card
Wii Remote
Twilight Princess
Twilight Hack Savegame
Homebrew Channel
DO NOT ASK FOR ISOs.

Loader/cIOS/Patcher: http://rapidshare.com/files/146449970/w ... r.rar.html
DVDX: http://static.hackmii.com/dvdx.zip
WAD Manager: http://skhsarki.extra.hu/files/download ... ger121.zip

Twilight Hack: http://hbc.hackmii.com/dist/twilight-ha ... -beta1.zip
Homebrew Channel : http://hbc.hackmii.com/dist/the_homebre ... a_8.tar.gz

ImgBurn: http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_2.4.2.0.exe

Here's a video on it: http://www.youtube.com/user/linkinworm1

How to do it:
Part One: Preparing the Loader
1. Configure your SD card for homebrew. Learn about some of the basic concepts and most used programs in using homebrew, such as the Twilight Hack and the Homebrew Channel. Learn more here.
2. Rename the dvd-backup.dol file to boot.dol and create a folder titled "Loader". Place the .dol in the folder. Find some graphic/xml files to fill in for now, or make your own.
3. Place the CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad file in the wad directory of your SD card.
4. Place the backup loader files (boot.dol, icon.png, meta.xml) in the Loader folder, and put the Loader folder in the apps folder on your SD Card.
5. Place the DVDX installer in a folder titled "DVDX" (without quotes) and put that in the apps folder on your SD card.
6. Place the WAD manager folder in your apps folder on your SD card.
7. Boot the Homebrew channel.

Part Two: Wii Setup. Only do these steps ONCE.
1. Install cIOS via the WAD Manager.
2. Install DVDX. If you have the option to Uninstall on the menu, DO THAT FIRST.
3. Navigate in the menu to "ADVANCED". Press LEFT or RIGHT on the Wii remote until you get to IOS249. Install it.

Now you are ready to get some games and play them on your Wii.

Part Three: Getting and Playing games on Your Wii
1. Find an ISO and download it (DON'T ASK WHERE TO GET THEM HERE).
2. Patch the game ISO. Put the ISO in the same directory of the backup-creator with the common-key file, RIGHT CLICK the ISO, and select OPEN WITH. Find the backup creator and select it.
3. Wait for this process to be done, and then burn the newly created file to a DVD (recommendation: Verbatim DVD-R) using the free ImgBurn.
4. Put your disc in the Wii. Boot up your Wii and load the Backup Loader from the Homebrew Channel.

Note for NTSC (US/Japan) users: You MUST use component cables or a VGA box. The Standard Wii A/V cables seem to give the vsync/black and white issues with this beta.

Rumors:
Official Release in October?
DVDX not needed? (for "final" release)
Doesn't (yet?) work with GC Games?
Some things show up as Black and White only?
It seems so far that with HD cables or VGA, NTSC works. Without them, they do not.

Known Facts:
Can only read at 3x speed, resulting in longer load times.
More glitches for NTSC so far.
Can use out of region games.
Cannot use existing burnt backups, MUST use patcher first.
Scrubbed games WORK!!!!

Need to Know (Info Not Yet Obtained):
Game Patching (aka Manhunt 2 remove censors, SSBB textures)?
Works online?

Any questions will be answered :)

DSTEMP homebrew update! #2

Just a reminder to make those r4 and EDGE/cyclo skins and submit them to our site by emailing them with the contact us page! :) And that the homebrew update will not be much frequesnt anymore (maybe once every 2 weeks :) )
Now to get on with the update:
PIXELMAN V92.9 (need pic here!!!)
The sprite editor (and maker) for ds, made by homebrew maker sylus 101 has been updated. Changelog:compliled with new community build 800823. Should fix issue with M3 Real cart (I hope).
There will be a little slider icon in the upper right. You can drag that down with the stylus to switch screens. Must drag it all the way or it'll snap back and not switch...
Buttonized most all options.
Made smaller top palette to utilize top screen more. Sprite shows on top screen instead of lower right of bottom screen.
Status bar on top displays some information about selections VERY INCOMPLETE, doesn't show much at all at the moment.
While screen is switched you can still select a color with the stylus. If you hold down on a color you will see a small colored box slide over to stylus position. You can then drag your selected color over another color to swap them. Will be adding option later to have the whole palette shift instead of doing a swap.
Tools on the bottom screen are just in order I added them and will be rearranged.
First icon is dropper or color select too. Self explanatory.
Next is bmp loader... read down for more detail on that...
Next is undo and redo. Redo (as with most apps) is reset after doing anything new.
Can undo about 8000 times... if you undo more than that it will dump about 4000 at the end of the undo list and shuffle the rest down. Doing a lot of fills on a larger sprite will cause you to see a message saying "cleaning undo list.."
Last is Fill, self explanatory. I'll be adding a, hold the button to stay in fill mode option soon.

September update

Ok...
As the september update approaches, we are working hard on updates, and contacting flashcard teams and dealers.
So to keep you occupied, here is a list of the flashcard teams and how kind we think they are:
1. Acekard Team, sent us samples even when there was only one review, thankyou guys.
2. Team Cyclops, they didn;t provide samples. So instead they pointed us in the direction of some stores.
3. Team EZ. They didn't sand us samples, and didn;t even see our message for a few months. But thankyou for the kind reply.
4. Team M3, We were negociating with them, when they stopped communicating... Still waiting...
5. Team KGBDS, they didn't even reply, they havn't released a flashcard yet, but that is just mean.

The other people we contacted were stores, so we can tell you a couple:
Dealwoot, our main providers, they provided severeal samples.
Bamboogaming, our secondary suppliers, only one sample sent yet, but more are gonna be sent in a while!

we are looking for some skinners to make us a couple of R4 skins...

Homebrew news, Update 1.

Ok, PokemonGalaxy gave me this idea with his last post:
Ok, We're gonna do weekly updates on homebrews, and firmwares.

FretFury (really good!):
This is a project that has entered the GBAtemp homebrew bounty.
Its FretFury for DS... Good idea because GuitarHero Ontour didn;t support custom songs (or play without a guitar grip) If you don;t have a Guitar grip, do not fear! There is a version that allows play WITHOUT the guitar grip (with the buttons) www.fretfury.tk

PokeDexDS (reeeaaaally good!):
Ok this is pure bias, cause I'm working on it. Its a pokedex for DS.. the links are coming soon, but here is the topic on GBAtemp. Words alone cannot discribe it, so you'll have to make do with a link (honestly, I'm not joking!) http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=100807
The current website (may change) is http://www.wabsta.com/

Video Game Hero:
It beat FretFury to the chase, and was a suprise to us all! IT is just like Guitar Hero, but you can only play music from games, nice choice though (Final Fantasy LoZ Metroid ect...)

Really good new homebrew~video games hero!

Just thought I should mention this as I was waiting for this for a long time.
The official website for the game is up here : http://www.videogameshero.com/ ,here's a short description from the official site: "VideoGamesHero brings you homebrew action at it's best - offering lasting fun and challenging action with over 65 Songs, 5 Game modes, Motion Card and Guitar Grip support, there is something for everyone!"
Sounds pretty good, huh?
Download it here

EDIT BY ANTOLIGY: Actually we're doing a homebrew update thing weekly now! So you didn't need to post it... (DAMN I WAS ON THE HIGH SCORES FOR ONLY 10 MINS...)

New banner made by Antoligy!

update~pokemongalaxy

Well as our staff member Antoligy says, we will be having double reviews, actually, we may both be doing COMPLETE reviews, so you readers will see 2 different points of views! The cyclods will be the first to have this feature :D THank you VERY MUCH dealwoot and bamboogaming for offering samples :)

Update

Ok...
Well, our site has decided to do double reviews, which will affect ALL reviews, so someone else will add a "summarised" version of the review, with ONLY with basics.

And, we can confirm that will be new reviews for: CycloDS (Thanks to Dealwoot!),
the EZflash V Plus (Thankyou Bamboogaming)

I do actually recomend these sites, (And not because they are sending samples!)
These sites have among the higest response times I have ever seen!

In terms of the september update, we will have:
1. Flashcard Firmwares
2. New skins
3. A recomended DS game section
4. Double Reviews
5. A better RSS feed thing

And if you want something added, then please send in your comments!

Ok...

Dstemp appears to be down right now...
Funny, I can't find anything to do with it..

So. My M3 Real and Games n Music reviews are going up tonight, and I'm getting more samples from Dealwoot, bamboogaming and techwizad.
